Sudanese Military Intelligence confiscated three lorries loaded with goods in Al Hamra area of Jidaid Abu Nawara Locality in Sudan’s South Kordofan State over the last few days. A source from Abu Jubaiha told Radio Tamazuj that security agents from Al Hamra area stopped the three lorries from crossing to Upper Nile State in South Sudan.

He further said the three lorries were taken to the Military Intelligence office in Abu Jubaiha. However, the same source confirmed that one lorry was released later after the owner paid 20,000 pounds.

Meanwhile, other sources reported that security agents have been demanding 5,000 pounds from any vehicle moving in the areas that lie on the border with South Sudan.

The decision to confiscate the three vehicles and the goods didn’t come from local authorities in the area, according to the same source. He claimed that the security agents had trucks also transporting goods to South Sudan, while they ban traders from transporting the goods to South Sudan.
