Traffic police in Juba have called on security agents in Juba to respect traffic regulations, saying some security and military vehicles blatantly ignore traffic rules.

Director of Traffic Police Colonel Akon John Agot says that this could be a major cause of accidents. He cautioned security vehicles to respect the speed limits of 45 kilometers per hour within the town or 90 kilometers per hour on highways.

Speaking on Miraya FM, Kon Agot said, “Civilians do respect traffic rules – but elements of the army and the police, these people overspeed and when a traffic police stops them they point a gun.”

“This is what we need to be solved so that there is traffic stability in the way that we want.”
