The second Film Festival kicked off on Monday at Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba with more than 70 local and international films competing for the first position this year.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj yesterday, the chairman of the organizing committee Simon Bingo said this season has witnessed more production of films, indicating that 75 films are participating this year.
Bingo cited that there are many prizes to be awarded at the end of the festival on September 9 at Nyakuron Cultural centre in Juba.
The awards include best local film, best international film, best director and best photographer.
The first day of the festival experienced a huge turn-out of artists, films directors, and short essay writers among others. The films are being exhibited at Nyakuron, Logale House, Youth Center at Hai Neem, and Notes Hotel.
