Citizens of the Marta neighborhood in Kadugli in South Kordofan have complained that an education facility has been turned into a military base for Reserve forces.

Parents of students in Kadugli told Radio Tamazuj that a group of Reserve troops used the school compound in the neighborhood as their camp during the summer vacation and turned

the classroom into a military barracks and kept their military equipment inside the school.

Even though the new academic school year started this week, the military forces remain in the school and they have not left. The parents stressed that they informed the concerned authorities and state government and expressed their fear that the school would be turned into a military base.

They also said part of the outer wall has been demolished in order to make a gate for military vehicles to enter and exit.
