Saudi investor Obaid Al Shahbani has expressed his willingness to enter into a partnership with the West Kordofan government to run a diary factory in Babanusa town.
The Babanusa dairy factory was opened in 1969, but it stopped in 1980. It was one of the largest factories in East Africa and the Middle East during that time.
After visiting the factory on Saturday, Al Shahbani said he wants to enter into a partnership with the state government to restart the factory to supply the country with milk and dairy products, besides the processing of gum Arabic, hibiscus and tamarind, saying they will also add new lines for small-scale industries.
