Jamus Football Club in Juba has signed a season contract with Samuel Taban Malesh who is one of the stars of the South Sudan national team and who was a player for Dakhil Football Club of Djibouti.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Sunday in Juba shortly after the signing ceremony, Taban expressed pride in joining the Jamus FC.
He described the step as “progress” in his football career and a step forward for him and said he hopes to be able to play abroad and not limit himself to playing in Juba.
“Everything comes step by step and everything will be good,” he said.
Taban stressed his desire to achieve something good for the Jamus (Buffalo) FC fans, adding that he would not promise them anything like winning a title or anything.
The star player vowed to bring some positive impact at the club and asked the fans to continue supporting the team as it prepares to participate in African games.
“I hope for good as we are heading towards representing South Sudan in different African games,” he stated.
Jamus FC was crowned the champions of the thirteenth edition of the South Sudan National Cup and was recently promoted to the local first-division league in Juba.
The club is preparing for its historic first participation in the African Confederation Cup next season.
