SAF, SPLA-North clash in southern Blue Nile

Clashes have reportedly erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North rebels in the southern part of Sudan’s Blue Nile State.

Clashes have reportedly erupted between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North rebels in the southern part of Sudan’s Blue Nile State.

Multiple sources told Radio Tamazuj the fighting was around Dirang and Kolgi areas. No further details about any losses in those clashes so far. Heavy artillery sounds were heard in Damazin town on Monday.

A source from South Kordofan state said the SPLA-North attacked Tiri area in Abu Karshola Locality on Monday.

Tiri area and other rounding villages have been reportedly been deserted by local citizens due to clashes between the government troops and SPLA-North rebels.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese government displaced the local citizens, reportedly telling civilians the area is for military operations. Radio Tamazuj couldn’t reach military officials from the government side to comment on the matter.
