The Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) have reiterated their commitment to the four month ceasefire announced by president Omer al-Bashir in Blue Nile and South Kordofan states.
In a press statement, Sudanese chief of general staff Gen. Imad al Din Mustafa said their commitment to the ceasefire comes as part of the country’s efforts to make the environment conducive for those who took up arms to now join peace and dialogue.
Blue Nile and South Kordofan have been engulfed in conflict since 2011 between the SPLA-North rebels and the SAF.
