A missile allegedly launched by the Sudanese air force from Damazin Airport in Blue Nile State has reportedly fallen into Hai Affendi neighbourhood on Tuesday evening, a source said.
No losses of life were reported according to several eyewitnesses. But the incident stirred up fear among local residents, causing some citizens to flee to Sinja in neighbouring Sennar state.
In late January, a man died and various houses burned when a munitions store of the Division Four Infantry exploded in Damazin town. The explosion was attributed to electrical fault.
Meanwhile, the Sudanese Armed Forces in Kadugli shelled rebel-controlled areas east of the town with about 20 bombs on Tuesday evening. There was no counterattack from the SPLA-North side.
