SAF deputy commander rejects negotiations unless RSF surrenders

Lieutenant General Yassir Al-Atta, the Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF), reaffirmed on Sunday the army’s staunch refusal to engage in any negotiations unless the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) surrender unconditionally.

Speaking to officers and soldiers in the Omdurman military district, Gen. Al-Atta declared that the soldiers will soon hear joyful news that will significantly contribute to achieving victory.

“There will be no truce whatsoever, and we will not enter negotiations even if we have to fight for the next hundred years, unless the RSF surrenders,” he stated.

Gen. Al-Atta emphasized that any attempt to negotiate would only delay the conflict, plunging the country into further political and security issues, and hindering Sudan’s progress.

He asserted that Sudan’s future hinges on eliminating the RSF from Sudanese soil and expressed the army’s support for the Sudanese people’s desire to end the rebellion definitively.

However, indirect talks between the two warring parties, facilitated by the United Nations, are ongoing in Geneva to ease the delivery of humanitarian aid.
