At least two citizens including a child were injured during a bombing in the Abu Leila area of the Umm Dorain locality, South Kordofan. The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) reportedly bombed the area. Earlier this month, the SAF declared a cessation of hostilities from 1 to 12 November to allow for a polio vaccination campaign.
The bombing also destroyed a health care facility in the Abu Leila area. The two victims are Hala El Mandil Kuwa and the little child Karima Butrus. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.
On 2 November an Antonov allegedly belonging to the SAF bombed the Umm Sardaba area. The SAF reportedly also dropped 12 bombs in the El Aqab, Jineizia and Abu Leila areas on 7 November.
Cessation of hostilities
The Sudanese government declared a cessation of hostilities from 1 to 12 November to allow the World Health Organization, Unicef and the Sudanese Ministry of Health for a vaccination campaign in the two areas. The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, however, rejected the unilateral declaration and demanded a negotiated agreement with the Sudanese government.
