SAF air strikes kill three in Nuba Mountains

On the first day of Eid al-Adha, the Sudanese Air Forces launched widespread air strikes on several areas of South Kordofan, Radio Dabanga reported on Friday. The targeted areas include the localities of Umm Doreen, Al-Boram, Dilling, Kadugli and Dalamy.

Witnesses said that the air strikes resulted in the death and injuring of a number of citizens, as well as the death of dozens of livestock. In addition, several farms and homes were severely damaged.

They added that an Antonov plane dropped several bombs at around 09:00 o'clock on Friday morning in the southern neighborhoods of Kadugli. The bombing allegedly killed three people and burnt down 3 homes.

The witnessed revealed that the village of Mindy has been exposed to an aerial attack, which resulted in injuring a 15-year-old child as well as burning five homes, they added to Radio Dabanga from south Kadugli.

Bombing continued over the following two days, Saturday and Sunday. Arno Ngutulu Lodi, official spokesman of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement – North (SPLM-N) stated that an Antonov plane dropped four bombs in the area of Kauda, Heiban locality on Saturday. The shelling caused fear among residents and led them to flee to mountain creeks, caves and valleys in search of safety.

A number of bombs were dropped on the area of Mindy in Umm Doreen locality on Saturday, Lodi added. The bombing injured a young girl, Nora Suleiman Adam, and burnt more than 10 homes.

At the same time, the area of Karji also witnessed an airstrike, leaving one resident, Salah Adam, injured and dozens of livestock dead. In addition, several farms were severely damaged, the spokesman continued. Lodi said an MiG aircraft bombed the area of Bor Kindy in Dilling locality on the same day, but no casualties have been reported.
