South Sudanese refugees who were relocated to Jebel Aulia area south of the Sudanese capital Khartoum are currently living in dire humanitarian conditions, a camp leader said.

South Sudanese refugees who were relocated to Jebel Aulia area south of the Sudanese capital Khartoum are currently living in dire humanitarian conditions, a camp leader said.

Sika Hassan, a prominent leader at the Bahr al Ghazal camps, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that more than 17,000 stranded refugees in Soba area were relocated to Jebel Aulia recently.

He pointed out that the South Sudanese refugees were experiencing harsh humanitarian conditions due to shortages of basic services.Sika called on South Sudan leaders to implement the peace agreement so they could return to the country.

“We call on the government to listen to the voices of the people and implement the peace agreement so that the people can return to their country and live in peace and stability,” said Sika.
