South Sudan Women’s Peace Network (SSWPN) yesterday welcomed UN Women Program Division Director Maria Noel Vaeza, who is visiting South Sudan from Monday to Wednesday.

Speaking to media at Juba Airport , Noel Vaeza said UN Women is working to empower women all over the world, and she came to South Sudan to see how the government and people of South Sudan can work together for the rights of women .

At Juba University, Maria attended the launch of the National Transformational Leadership Institute (NTLI), where she stressed that such institutions are important to support women in South Sudan.

On Tuesday the UN Women official will have a meeting with the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, then she will travel to Nimule to inspect a UN Women humanitarian programme there.
