South Sudan’s National Security Service have detained one of their own officers after he allegedly stole money from the Office of the President, according to an anonymous source in Juba.

South Sudan’s National Security Service have detained one of their own officers after he allegedly stole money from the Office of the President, according to an anonymous source in Juba.

The detained National Security Service officer with the rank of captain was identified only as Aga’wo. He had been serving as a secretary in President Salva Kiir’s office. The source said that he has been accused of forging the signature of the president in order to steal government funds.

The arrested security officer is currently being detained at an undisclosed location. His relatives are reportedly trying to negotiate for his release.
