South Sudan’s Inspector General of Police Makur Maruol on Sunday has called for the establishment of a criminal laboratory in the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for detection of crimes.
Speaking on the occasion to mark the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking in the CID headquarters on Sunday, Makur urged the Ministry of Interior to provide police dogs to work in fighting drugs.
He accused some elements in the police of involvement in drug crimes, adding that the police will work 24 hours to fight drugs in the country.
Nicola Makuac, Judge of Court of First Instance called on the police to work tirelessly and selflessly in order to obtain information from criminals during investigation, saying police personnel are risking their lives to get the correct information.
