The Executive Director of Lafon County in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria state said people have started eating leaves of trees amid a shortage of food following a failed agricultural season and the rise in cost of goods.

County Executive Director Joe Luis called on the government to intervene to rescue the situation.
