The South Sudan minister of general education Deng Deng Hoc said the period of using the Sudanese curriculum in secondary schools has ended.
Addressing journalists at the ministry premises on Thursday, Hoc said the examination council issued an order to stop using foreign curriculums in South Sudan in general and the Sudanese curriculum in particular.
“I want to reiterate once again to all teachers and students that South Sudan examination council orders the cancellation of using Sudanese curriculum,” said Hoc.
“The order is clear and final. From 16 January 2013, the examination council ordered the cancellation of secondary schools examination using the Sudanese curriculum by March 2015,” he added.
He pointed out that South Sudan’s own curriculum was launched by President Salva Kiir in 2007. Hoc called on students to respect the examination council order.
