The Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) has urged the warring parties to the conflict to reach peace for the sake of the people of South Sudan.

In a press conference on Thursday in Juba, CEPO Executive Director Edmund Yakani commended the IGAD-Plus mediation team and other international partners involved in the peace process.

He called on South Sudan’s government and the rebels to make concessions for the sake of peace and stability.

The warring parties previously rejected a peace proposal by the IGAD mediators over disagreements regarding power-sharing and the status of armed forces.
