There were eight new cholera cases in South Sudan last week as the outbreak continues to decline, UNICEF said in its latest situation report.

The week before that there were 18 cases. A total of 1751 cases have been reported in Juba and Bor by the World Health Organization with 46 deaths since the outbreak began in June. This represents a case fatality rate of 2.6%.

During a cholera outbreak last year there were 6,421 cases including 167 deaths in South Sudan, a case fatality rate of 2.6%.
