The Ruweng Administrative Areas health authorities confirmed that they received drug supplies that will last six months after spending five months without drug supplies.
Achol Bol, the area’s health minister, told Radio Tamazuj Monday that drugs supplied by UNICEF and the national health ministry arrived from Juba on Friday.
“After five months without drug supplies since August, during which residents of Ruweng faced many challenges due to a malaria outbreak that killed so many people, we received drugs last week,” she said.
The minister highlighted that the communities in Ruweng cannot afford to buy drugs from pharmacies because they are poor and lack money.
A Ruweng resident, Jak Kuol, confirmed the arrival of the drugs from Juba to Parieng Town on Friday last week.
“I thank the health ministry in Ruweng Administrative Areas for bringing enough drugs and we will not buy medication from Parieng Town Markets,” he stated.
