A Catholic church at Abeim, Northern Bahr a-Ghazal state burned down last Monday in a case of suspected arson.
Church leader Anei Akol said the members of the church attended Sunday services and there was no any problem among of the members. Then on Monday night, the residents near the church saw a heavy fire burning the church.
No culpires have been arrested. Anei said that he suspected either gangs or non-Christians of being behind the incident because most of the people were happy with the church being here.
Losses are said to include about a hundred chairs, six tables, vestments, and two adjoining thatch grass houses.
Akol complained that the security is very weak in the region, noting that the church was near to the market, which is known as the place of security personnel to be deployed.
