At least two people were killed, four wounded and 75 cattle raided in Lakes State's Rumbek East County on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj the Deputy Executive Director of Rumbek East County, Peter Bech said two people were killed and two others wounded from the Durbar section, while two other people from the Thuyic section were injured in the cattle raid.
He said the incident occurred in Akuacleek cattle camp when suspected armed youth from Rup and Thuyic sections attacked the Durbar section.
Bech pointed out that traditional chiefs intervened to persuade the armed youth to end the sectional clashes.
The police spokesperson in Lakes State, Major Elijah Mabor Makuac noted that two people have gone missing since the incident.
"There were some youth from Rup sections who went and raided 75 herds of cattle and killed one person from Durbar at 3 pm. So, at 9 pm Durbar, armed youth attacked a cattle camp called Akuacleek being inhabited by the Thuyic section in an attempt to revenge and raid the cattle," he narrated. "But again the Durbar lost another person, and two went missing. Meanwhile, two people from the Thuyic cattle owners were wounded."
He said forces were deployed to the area to contain the situation and deter further clashes.
