The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) Committee for Peace and Reconciliation dispatched a relief food convoy to the Al-Jireef area in the East Nile locality of the Sudanese capital Khartoum on Monday, an official has said.

Brigadier Musa Ambilo, the head of the Peace and Reconciliation Committee who addressed the residents of Al-Jireef, told them that the convoy was sent following the directives of RSF Commander Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo.

“We have come on the directives of Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, the Commander of the RSF. We have surveyed 386 neighborhoods, opened 86 hospitals, as well as several schools and bakeries, and provided free medical treatment to citizens,” he stated.

Brig. Ambilo also confirmed the opening of a hospital in the Al-Jireef area and the provision of all types of medicines and medical supplies. He indicated that Hemeti instructed them to share the food and medicines with the citizens.

Meanwhile, Hawa Kabashi, a resident of Al-Jireef, said they have experienced significant suffering due to the lack of electricity, water, and telecommunications. She thanked the RSF for the food and expressed her wishes for mercy and affection among the residents in the area.

For his part, Basheer Ibrahim, another resident, welcomed the donation, saying: “The RSF stood with us in every big and small matter, especially in terms of providing medical assistance and medicine.”

The area experienced indiscriminate artillery shelling last week, resulting in the deaths of several civilians.

The East Nile Observatory accused the RSF of shelling the area, which is already experiencing a humanitarian crisis due to electricity, water, and food shortages.
