The County Commissioner of Rummamer in the disputed area of Abyei has warned traders in the Amieth Common Market not to give taxes to un-authorised persons.

This follows a complaint by traders that prices in the market have skyrocketed due to over taxation by local authorities.

The traders said police and other security personnel have been collecting taxes from them forcing them to increase the prices of commodities.

However, Commissioner Mayath Akon, told traders not to pay taxes to any persons other than the finance officer using Form 15. He also warned other parties against collecting taxes from traders at the market.
