One person was on Friday killed when a passenger vehicle traveling along a road between Twic East and Bor counties of Jonglei State fell into an ambush, a police officer said.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Friday, the state police commissioner, Major Gen. Joseph Mayen Akoon said the incident occurred in Ngalapicha area when a group of armed group attacked the passenger vehicle.
“The attackers killed one man and looted personal belongings. The rest of the passengers later arrived in Panyagoor unhurt,” he said.
The police officer urged local residents to be vigilant when on a journey.
