Rizeigat, Habania sign reconciliation document in South Darfur

The governor of Sudan’s South Darfur State Adam Al Fekki on Saturday announced that the government have successfully accomplished a reconciliation process in the state between two Arab tribes.

The Rizeigat and Habania tribes have signed a peace document in order to bring an end to their running feud in Buram Locality. Speaking at the closing meeting in a border area between South and East Darfur, Al Fekki stated that South Darfur has already changed from a conflict zone into one of peaceful coexistence between communities.

Al Fekki thanked the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and other auxiliary forces for achieving victories in battles against rebels in an attempt to achieve peace and stability. The governor also commended efforts exerted by state governments in addressing insecurity, which encouraged endeavours to overcome problems of the past.

The state official told Ashrooq TV that a joint committee from the two states was set up in order to implement all recommendations adopted in the conference.
