River floods Sennar villages

Flooding of the Dinder river is expected to bring humanitarian consequences in Sennar state, a number of residents there told Radio Tamazuj.

They said that the humanitarian situation is deteriorating with increasing numbers of affected people after more than 17 villages were wiped away by the flood, along with large areas of farms of untold worth.

Citizens stressed that the flood that swept the area was 4.5 kilometers in width, and added that this flood was beyond description. Police have recorded one incident of a child drowned to death in the flood.
