The Centre for Peace and Justice (CPJ), a human rights organization in South Sudan, has condemned in the strongest terms possible the killing of the ICRC staff member Lukudu Kennedy in Western Equatoria.

CPJ's Coordinator Tito Anthony said in a statement yesterday that the killing of the ICRC driver is unlawful. “I call for an independent investigation committee to be formed by the UN and government to investigate the killing of the aid worker and the persons responsible for the act should be brought to book,” he said.

The group urged the UN mission in South Sudan to provide protection forces to humanitarian convoys. He appealed to South Sudan’s warring parties to ensure that humanitarian workers to protect all aid workers.
