South Sudan’s former first vice president and rebel leader Riek Machar issued a decree suspending the appointments of Wau governor and his deputy.

South Sudan’s former first vice president and rebel leader Riek Machar issued a decree suspending the appointments of Wau governor and his deputy.

In separate decrees on 4 January, Machar appointed Gen. Anthony Fada Taban as governor of Wau State and Francis Dongo Dange as deputy governor of Wau State.

According to the decree on 6 January, Machar suspended the appointments of the two opposition officials due to some anomalies.
