South Sudan’s former first vice president and rebel leader Riek Machar issued a decree appointing a new press secretary in his office.

South Sudan’s former first vice president and rebel leader Riek Machar issued a decree appointing a new press secretary in his office.

The decree comes two months after James Gatdet Dak, the official spokesman in Machar’s office was deported and handed over to South Sudan government by Kenyan authorities.

According to the decree on 11 January, Machar appointed Lam John Kuei Lam as new press secretary in his office.

Lam had worked for various media houses as a journalist in Sudan and South Sudan.
