At least 10 people were killed and others injured yesterday in Warrap State in an inter-clan feud, according to the Tonj East County Commissioner.

Madol Chol Thuch told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that a group of youths from his county attacked Pamiir-Ajak cattle camp at Kirik payam in Tonj North County and killed 10 people, while wounding another 7 people.

The official narrated that at least three men, one woman and three children were confirmed killed.

He said that four attackers were also arrested and one was killed in a shootout: “One of them was killed and another two were wounded in the fight.”

Madol further said about 300 head of cattle were also seized from the group.

The official asserted that the investigation will be carried out to uncover the circumstances of the deadly attacks. However, the commissioner attributed the incident to inter-clan differences in the area.

“One of the arrested claimed that some members of that family had killed a woman who is their relative, but such a claim is not yet proved,” he said.

In early September, at least 40 people were killed and 66 wounded in inter-clans fighting involving the Luanyjang section which is divided between Adeel and Thuch clans following the abduction of a woman in Tonj East.
