Returnees in Renk appeal to expedite their deportation

Returnees from north Sudan who have been stuck at Mina Camp on the Nile in Renk are appealing for speedier deportation southward. The returnees in the Upper Nile state town appealed even to the President of South Sudan Salva Kiir to immediately intervene to complete the operations for their deportation to their areas of origin.

One resident Mary Nanrasu told Radio Tamazuj that they are demanding President Kiir to speed up their deportation process, and added that they are living in terrible humanitarian conditions.

Nanrasu indicated that from their arrival to the port camp since last April till now there was no assistance in the form of food, tarpaulins or services provided to them by any authority. She also pointed to poor health services in the camp and the spread of diseases such as malaria and diarrhea, as well as the existence of snakes.
