Brig. Yasser Ja’afar Sanhouri, member of the reform group formed by seven senior SPLA-North officers who were designated ‘retired’ last year, has accused the group’s top leadership of mobilizing the people of Sudan to join the National Dialogue with the Khartoum government.
Former Commander of the joint forces Brigadier Yasser Ja’afar Sanhouri and head of the financial department Brigadier Hassan Ramadan Nemir are among the dissident officers.
In an interview with Radio Tamazuj yesterday, Ja’afar called on all supporters of the SPLA-North to reject the African Union peace roadmap which provides for disarmament of the armed rebels, claiming the African Union peace roadmaps is a continuation of the National Dialogue.
He pointed out that the statement made by the acting SPLM-North Secretary General Yasser Arman that they amended the African Union peace roadmap is untrue. “I can say that it not true because the National Congress Party has rejected any changes and additions, so what Arman is saying is misleading the supporters and the downtrodden people”said Ja’afar.
Last week, the “Sudan Appeal” opposition coalition announced that it will sign the African Union peace roadmap agreement if the African Union mediators accepted their demands.
