Displaced people inside the UN Protection of Civilians Site in Malakal town of South Sudan’s Upper Nile State have complained of deteriorating humanitarian conditions in the site following recent violence that broke out in the camp.

A number of displaced people told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that they are living in dire conditions after they lost all what they have during the recent violence, said they are short on food except for corn and cooking oil distributed by some aid agencies.

They said there is lack of basic services amid blocking of the route between Malakal and Wau Shilluk area where they used to get some foods. Mary Nyawal, one of the displaced people in the Protection Site said the situation is becoming worse and the aid agencies cannot provide them with any other foods other than corn and cooking oil.

She added that they did not go back to their compound and are still living under the sun without shelter.
