Residents of Nesitu in Central Equatoria State have expressed fears about the relocation of SPLA troops to the area without consultation with the local authorities.
Simon Ladu, a tribal chief from Lulubu tribe in Nesitu said the relocation of SPLA troops to Jebel Maluk without any consultation with the local administration has created fear and havoc among the residents.
He alleged that the troops that have been relocated to the area recently began to cut trees which was considered a violation to the people in the area. The chief cited one incident of looting after the relocation of the troops in the area.
He called on the government to consult with the local administration before transporting more SPLA outside Juba.
