The Unity Cultural Development Center (UCDC), a local non-governmental organization, has officially announced it had completed the renovations of Raja Boys’ Secondary School in Western Bahr el Ghazal State.
The renovation was done with support from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) through its quick impact project.
Speaking to reporters in his office in Wau town on Thursday, UCDC’s Executive Director Bensensio Mangu said the school will help the residents acquire education to build capacities and expand their knowledge.
“The renovation period was three months, but it finished before time. We have given it to UNMISS to go and check the quality of renovation and after that it can be handed over to the government,” said Mangu.
He added, “Also to be renovated due to damages caused by the conflict of 2016 is the police station and youth center.”
The executive director said the secondary school has classrooms, teachers’ office and latrines. He further pointed out that the school was closed during the 2016 conflict.
