The Renk Hospital in Upper Nile State is facing shortages of medicines amid rising cases of malaria and other diseases in the rainy season, a medical doctor said.
Dr. Daniel Adok, the hospital’s medical director told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that the health facility receives between 200 and 250 patients every day, with majority of them diagnosed with malaria.
He said the existing pills and injections at the hospital are not enough to cope with the diseases, adding that they are likely to witness an increase in malaria cases, especially among children.
Adok urged the concerned authorities to provide the drugs to enable the hospital fight disease outbreaks.
