Pastor Michael Abbar of the Orthodox Church in South Sudan has called on South Sudanese to stop fighting each other and instead fight corruption for the betterment of the nation.

Speaking during a farewell ceremony for primary school leavers at St. Mark School in Wau on Sunday, Abbar said that the people of South Sudan should work together for peace.

He said education and faith in God are necessary for unity and peace to prevail.

"What is happening in South Sudan now is corruption and tribal conflicts, all because of lack of faith and lack of insight to do the right thing," he added.

The religious leader further stressed the need to fear God saying that will help to build a peaceful and stable country.
