Release of captives between Rizeigat, Ma’alia tribes

The Ma’alia tribe also handed over two Land Cruisers belonging to the Auxiliary Police Unit to local authorities in Abu Karinka locality.

Zachariah Suleiman, a Ma’alia tribal leader, told Radio Tamazuj that the two prisoners of war were released from the two sides on Friday.

He explained that the Rizeigat tribe had captured two Ma’alia tribesmen including a child in north Abu Karinka. He added the captured child was handed over to the local authorities in Muhagiriya last week, while the other captive was taken to Ad Daein town.

He further said they repulsed an attack by the Rizeigat tribe in Wad Al Bilal last week. He claimed that they also captured one person from the Rizeigat tribe during the fighting.

He pointed out that they seized two land Cruiser vehicles belonging to the Auxiliary Police Unit.

Zachariah pointed out that the Rizeigat tribe surrendered the prisoner to security authorities that took him to Abu Karinka. The tribal leader explained that the Ma’alia tribe also handed over the Rizeigat prisoner to the police in Abu Karinka.

Zachariah claimed that the security situation returned to normal after the release of the prisoners of war.
