Mohamed Ahmed Madibo, the paramount chief of Raja County in South Sudan’s Western Bahr al Ghazal State has called on the state government to distribute tractors donated by President Kiir’s office.

President Salva Kiir announced the ‘donation’ of 1000 tractors to the country last year, raising questions about how they were procured. Some areas have received their share while others have not.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, the traditional leader stressed that the donated tractors should be distributed equally between states and counties. He pointed out that his county has not yet received any tractor up till now.

“All the states are suffering from hunger, so why the former minister agriculture in Western Bahr al Ghazal doesn’t give the tractors to the county to reduce hunger?” said the chief.
