Citizens from the Temin area in the western mountains of South Kordofan near the city of Dilling complained of poor health conditions in the region as rainfall brought with it seasonal illnesses. There are no health services whatsoever in the area.
A number of citizens from Temin told Radio Tamazuj that there are outbreaks of malaria and diarrhea, in addition to growing cases of cough among children. They also stated that the living conditions of the citizens are at their worst levels because of the continuous battles in the region which contributed to the terrible conditions and made it difficult to buy medicines.
They explained that they have turned to traditional medicines for treatment, and that the health conditions are in continuous deterioration because of the rainy seasons which led to the increase in the number of diseases. Also they complained of negligence of the region by the government authorities in terms of both security and transportation services which are too poor to allow patients to reach to the nearest hospital in Dilling.
