Elements from the Lord Resistance Army (LRA) have raided a number of cattle belonging to Fallata herders last Friday in Boro Medina of Western Bahr el Ghazal State, according to the commissioner of Raja County.

Commissioner James Benjamen told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that herders reported the incident to the SPLA in the area.

“Three days ago they have attacked herders from the Fallata tribe and raided their cattle south of Boro Medina,” Benjamin said, adding that SPLA forces followed the attackers for two days and could not recover the raided cattle.

Benjamin said that LRA are present in the area to search for food by threatening farmers and looting their crops and cattle. He urged citizens to transport their crops to Boro Medina and not store them outside the town.
