Radio Raja in the proposed Lol state has been out of service for more than three months, according to government officials.

“Radio Raja is the only radio station in the state and it’s very important for the coverage of activities of the government,” said State Minister of Information Francis Bok.

A malfunctioning sound mixer and other technical malfunctions are to blame.

Radio Raja covers 20 km around Raja town. The broadcast service goes for two hours a day due to fuel shortages, and employs 16 staff.

Bok said that they have ordered spare parts which the station needs to go on air again.
