Radio Easter FM-94.0 has been off air for the last three months after its transmiission cable was hit by stray bullets in Yei River state.

The station was established in 2010 to send messages of peace in the state. It is under the Catholic Radio Network.

A senior presenter, who preferred anonymity, told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the station went off air in October.

“The radio has been off air for approximately three months as of now. We thought it has technical faults with the transmitter but unfortunately we discovered that the RF cable that connects the antenna to the transmitter was hit by bullets,” he said.

He appealed to political leaders to restore peace and stability in the country.

The presenter disclosed that the radio station is in the process of securing a new cable from Italy. He pointed out that the radio could resume broadcast in January.
