Rabid dog bites four people in Warrap State

A rabid dog attacked four people including a 4-year old boy in Turalei Payam of Warrap State on Tuesday morning. The victims came from different villages in Turalei County.

Clinical officer at CCM hospital Bith Atem said that they have given first aid treatment to the patients but noted the hospital does not have anti-rabies vaccines. The patients are being transferred Abyei Area to get vaccines.

“Right now we have received four people who sustained dogs bite in one hour, we don’t know whether there will be other people behind them. The only help provided to them when they arrived here like this woman who is suffering too much because dog has bit her 4 times.”

He added, “It is bitten her two hands, arm and stomach. It has also bite the child at his chest and her sister arm. So we used TT injection, pain killer and wash the wounds and send them direct to Aneit because we don’t have anti-rabies here”

Ajer Chol Ajiing said the dog bit her four times because she was protecting her child. “I caught the dog and cry to call for the help but nobody came immediately while my baby was holding my legs, no way completely so was just crying until my sister came and help. It bit me four times.
