A Khartoum criminal court resumed hearing prosecution witnesses on Thursday in the trial of opposition leaders Farouq Abu Issa and human rights activist Amin Mekki Madeni.
Abu Issa, 82, and Madeni, 76, signed the “Sudan Appeal” document in Addis Ababa and consequently were accused of instigating violence and undermining the country’s constitution.
A source told Radio Tamazuj that two witnesses appeared before the court yesterday including a perfume seller at the Sudanese Observatory for Human Rights.
Omar Abdelati reportedly defended the two opposition leaders. The presiding judge adjourned the sitting to next Monday.
Last week, the court listened to witnesses from the security service.
