An investigation committee recently set up by the government in Juba to investigate the recent deadly fighting between Dinka Bor and Murle tribes has started questioning individuals involved in Bor town, a local official in Jonglei state said.
Jonglei’s information minister Jacob Akec told Radio Tamazuj on Wednesday that the team is now investigating those who were accused of involvement in the April clashes.
He further said the investigation team will also travel to Boma State where it will carry out similar investigations before a peace and reconciliation conference takes place.
In May, Bor and Murle communities signed a peace agreement to end hostilities in an attempt to end violence, including child abductions and cattle raiding.
The pastoralist Dinkas from Jonglei and their Murle neighbours in Boma state have for long been wrangling leading to cattle raids and child abductions.
