A prison service soldier has been killed by unidentified armed criminals while cultivating his farm in Bor town of Jonglei State on Saturday, according to the police.
Major General Elia Costa, the Jonglei State Police Commissioner, told radio Tamazuj that Dot Diing Agot, went to his farm in Pabial-Jokjoh at the outskirts of Bor town when he was attacked and killed by suspected armed criminals associated with the Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA).
“A soldier from the prison service went to his farm but he failed to return home that night, prompting concerned locals to search for him the following day,” Costa explained. “Tragically, they discovered his lifeless body, bearing gunshot wounds, indicating a violent end at the hands of the assailants.”
Gen. Costa said the joint security forces have been deployed to patrol the areas surrounding Bor town.
