Sudan’s National Intelligence and Security Services (NISS) have confiscated all copies of three newspapers on Monday morning without any clear reason, according to journalists.
Several journalists in Khartoum told Radio Tamazuj that security agents confiscated print runs of Al Mijhar Al Siyasi, Al-Ahram Al-Yom and Al-Sayha newspapers.
They pointed out that the three newspapers were confiscated over interviews conducted with rebel leaders in Addis Ababa. Some journalists revealed that all newspapers recently received a directive from the National Security Service not to publish any interviews or reports on the Addis Ababa peace talks.
Sudanese security operatives have been imposing restrictions on press freedoms including censorship prior to publication.
